City of Carpinteria General Plan Update

Steve Goggia, City Community Development Director, Rita Bright, Project Manager and Julia Pujo, Deputy Project Manager, of consultant Amec Foster Wheeler, will provide an update on the City's process of updating the General Plan / Local Coastal Plan. The General Plan is the City's primary policy document and guides both land use and development decisions as well as the type and nature of projects, programs and services undertaken by the City on behalf of the Carpinteria community. Topics being discussed in the update include understanding and planning for sea level rise, interests in establishing policies around community health and quality of life, as well as new uses that may follow after the closure and decommissioning of the Carpinteria Oil & Gas Plant.
